Moshe "MB" Klyman

Program Director, Maccabi USA Wrestling

Moshe Klyman wrestled four years at TABC in Teaneck before moving on to Rutgers, where he left the varsity program to found the Rutgers Wrestling Club — a move that let him keep competing at a high level while remaining Sabbath observant. On the senior circuit he became a U.S. Open national finalist, collected more than 20 top-three medals in international competition, and is a four-time Maccabiah medalist. He brings that same discipline to the Frisch Wrestling, where his own children are starting their high school wrestling journeys and to Underground Training in Tenafly, the training facility he owns in Tenafly, NJ.

“In the past, I’ve been the only shomer Shabbat wrestler on the team. This year, Maccabi USA made a real effort to bridge the secular and Orthodox worlds. To see other yeshiva guys competing alongside me and to see everyone come together as one team made this the most meaningful Maccabiah I’ve ever experienced.”

- MB Klyman

MB will be working with the Orthodox wrestling community to bring more of their athletes into the Maccabi USA Wrestling organization. This will include: creating training facilities for all Jewish wrestlers, with the hope of opening a Maccabi USA training site, offering clinics to Orthodox wrestlers and coaches for them to build their knowledge, and bring the community together with Secular athletes to build a team program that can train and compete at the National and International levels.
